As humans, the relationships we form with other people are vital to our mental and emotional well-being, and our survival. We have an inherent desire to be close to other people, to connect and build relationships. The truth is, healthy relationships (romantic relationships, friendships, familial relationships -- they all count!) can help make for a healthier overall life.

Coping skills are the activities that reduce stress by helping people to feel balanced, relaxed or find purpose in the things that might be difficult. Anything that is safe and helps you feel better can be considered a "coping skill."

Sleep is important for people of all ages, but it is of significance for adolescents because their brains and bodies are still developing. From the onset of puberty until the age of 22, adolescents need between 8 to 10 hours of sleep a night in order to be physically, mentally and cognitively healthy.

The road to good health in adulthood is paved with the decisions made during the teenage years. Therefore, proper nutrition and the need for extra nutrients during this time is necessary to support bone growth, hormonal changes, and organ and tissue development, which includes the brain.

Exercise benefits every part of the body, including the mind. Research proves that exercise even generates feel good chemicals that can improve our mood. Exercise can help people sleep better.

Each year, the Work of Art program invites top professional artists, designers, performers, and creators from Los Angeles to talk about their jobs, their journeys, and answer any questions that students, parents, and guests may have.
For 2020, our Creative Career Fair will be online, and we have invited folks from Disney, Instagram, Netflix, Variety, Warner Music Group, and many more marvelously influential businesses, large and small. This fun, casual, upbeat event will kick off with a panel discussion. Please join us!
